THE SOLAR ACADEMY

The SA Solar Academy addresses what is generally accepted as one of the inhibitors to the solar water heater and green energy product market growth – technical specialization and the training and development of sufficient capable and competent installers.

Solar water heaters (geysers and heat pumps) are energy efficient and reliable means for heating water and effective in reducing greenhouse emissions in the residential sector, but correct installation is crucial to ensure reliability, maximum energy savings and user satisfaction.

The SA Solar Academy was founded with the mission to provide effective training and skills transfer in the fastest possible way, whether to skilled plumbers looking to expand their expertise, or to semi and unskilled people to be deployed on volume installations in RDP housing projects.
 

To achieve this, the Academy choose not to be a typical training centre with fixed premises and regulated courses, but rather to provide an interface between the green energy industry and its market, creating customized training and development programs for different communities, levels of education and sophistication, clients and projects.

Through this and its consulting involvement in mass solar water heater roll outs, large commercial projects and the design and manufacture of solar components, the Academy has accumulated a wealth of knowledge, technical expertise and practical experience in the field of solar hot water technology.  

To put this IP to good use, services are offered for review, assessment and site auditing and recommendation on energy efficiency solutions appropriate for the environment and consumer.
